I won't ask you to neuter.
I won't ask you to adopt or donate.
But I will ask you.......
Please do not breed your pet.

Although our shelters are overflowing with unwanted cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rabbits and even small animals, horses and other unwanted farm animals, this is a massive issue we have in our world today - greed and selfishness combined with our pets' reproductive organs. Not just with dogs, not just with cats, but with all pets - gerbils, rats, mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, pot bellied pigs, etc. It is not necessarily the overabundance of pets we have, because that is a whole issue at its own, it is also the health issues, genetic conditions and bad temperaments that are passed down from generation to generation because of those who irresponsibly breed their pets, mostly out of greed and selfishness.

Irresponsibly breeding your pets can pass on unknown genetic conditions, can lead to pregnancy and/or birth difficulties, can cause death of litter/offspring, and can also harm or even kill the mother if not gone about the right way.

Chances of producing a litter, or any at all, that are any thing like the mother - highly unlikely. Responsibly breeding your pet will not make you a profit, irresponsibly or responsibly breeding may even cost you more than you receive after selling the offspring.

I am done asking people to spay/neuter, because this will not solve our crisis. Halting all irresponsible breeding is the very start, spaying/neutering is just additional, but it not always necessary. Keeping your pet from breeding may or may not be difficult at all - depending upon species, your responsibility and whether or not the animal has access to another animal of the same species and opposite gender, especially.

Below are many informative websites that give you important information regarding breeding your pet, also providing an overview of the care and expenses of breeding, possibly including reasons not to breed, and more necessary information on the same topic. For educational purposes only, not to encourage or promote irresponsible breeding. Unfortunately, very few sites are provided for most small animals, so you will have to do that research on your own, it is not that difficult, right?
